Market Kitchen UKTVStokes Real Tomato Ketchup has come first in a blind taste test on UKTV’s Market Kitchen programme.

Hosts Matthew Foot of the Guardian newspaper and Tom Parker Bowles were joined by Cyrus Todiwala, Proprietor and Executive Chef of London’s Café Spice Namaste, who has over the years picked up a number of prestigious awards including British Curry Awards Industry Personality of the Year 2007 and Best Indian Chef in the UK.

Matthew Fort has been the Food and Drink Editor at the Guardian since 1989. He has also written for Esquire, The Observer, Country Living, Decanter and Waitrose Food Illustrated. In 1992 he won the title of Glenfiddich Food Writer of the Year and, in 1993, Glenfiddich Restaurant Writer of the Year, as well as The Restaurateurs’ Association Food Writer of the Year. He was Glenfiddich Cookery Writer of the Year in 2005.

Despite some initial skepticism, the judges declared Stokes Real Tomato Ketchup the outright winner, overcoming even the ‘classic’ Heinz Tomato Ketchup and several other ‘gourmet’ ketchups.
